On December 28, 2021, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry went to the Republic of Rwanda for a visit that included several meetings with Rwandan officials, led by the Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs. On the sidelines of the visit, the foundation stone for the Magdi Yacoub Rwanda Egypt Heart Center was laid, of which the Egyptian Minster of Foreign Affairs, through the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development, financed the purchase, supply and installation of all equipment for its first phase.
